Lynne Austin-Dutton
Lynne Austin-Dutton's first performance was at the age of nine at the Royal Albert Hall in front of the Queen Mother. As she said at that time "...if I hadn't been there it would have been called 999 voices instead of 1000!" Her humour and caring personality makes her new students instantly feel at ease and her well of vocal knowledge impresses the most seasoned performers.
Lynne spent many years training with various teachers but felt something was missing from her lessons - the understanding of her vocal instrument. She was exercising but not knowing why and what effect it was meant to have .She also had the feeling that there was a lack of observation in what she was doing and therefore many bad habits she had got into were not readily pointed out. All these things caused her to seek out knowledge for herself and discover so that she could become a teacher able to cope with each person's unique voice.
Lynne established the www.speechlevel.com web site in 2001 when she became the first European associate of Seth Riggs, vocal coach to Grammy winners including Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandross & Barbra Streisand. She had the opportunity to learn directly from Seth Riggs and believes the technique is a god send to many singers. She is no longer an associate but focuses on further developing the techniques she has learned.
With over twenty years of teaching experience, Lynne not only runs a busy studio but also performs as lead singer in premier dance band The Chicanes . She is also a voice over artist and session vocalist.
