Learning a song: Learn the notes in that song, pick them out on a piano, guitar. Learn the words to that you can speak them out loud by heart as if you have written them. Make those words mean something to you. Record yourself singing over and over again until your voice is so easy to produce it's like speaking the words. Never sing over and over again if something is hurting you to produce the sound.

Listen line by line so that you can hear what the musicians are playing as well as what the artist is singing on the track.

When someone tells a story it's rarely re-told exactly in the same way as it was heard, in fact sometimes it gets so altered that it can have totally  the wrong meaning from the original. But, if listened to carefully with understanding it can be re-told to have an even greater impact, therefore enhancing the original.

Don't just sing it, SING it!

Testimonials:

Lynne is a great teacher who not only has an easy way with her students but also knows her stuff inside out. I can vouch for the improvement in my own voice. She explains the mechanics of singing in such a simple way it's truly enlightening. What's more, she can walk the walk as well as talking the talk.

Something rare when it comes to teaching singing. Having not sung for over 15 years Lynne has found my true singing voice, one I never knew I had. Thankyou Lynne you are the best."
